Best Microphone for Canon EOS R7 ?

Question

I recently purchased the Canon EOS R7 mirrorless camera primarily for video. I'm looking for recommendations on the best microphone to pair with it for high quality audio, especially for vlogging and interviews. I'd prefer something compact and on-camera if possible. Budget is flexible for the right mic.

I've been using the Rode VideoMic Pro+ with my R7 and it's been fantastic. Very compact shotgun mic that mounts right in the hot shoe. The +20db level boost is great for capturing clear audio even in noisy environments. Well worth the price for the sound quality and convenience.

If you're open to using a lavalier mic, I highly recommend the Rode Wireless GO II system. It comes with two transmitters that have built-in mics, or you can plug in Rode's excellent lavalier if you need to conceal the mic. The receiver mounts right on the camera's hot shoe and plugs into the mic jack. Super easy to use and the audio is broadcast quality.
