Fujifilm X100VI is so popular, will Canon release a new high-end compact camera soon ?

Canon has not updated their large-sensor compact camera line (the G1X series) since the Mark III version launched in 2017. This suggests they have not made this category a major priority recently.

Maybe, if there is a market for compact camera, Canon will not miss it.
